Privacy policy

ResaleTally is run by Gaurav Tripathi, a sole proprietor in Canada, who is responsible for the personal information described here. Questions or requests: [email protected].
The short version
- The free calculators and the profit tracker run in your browser. Your sales never leave your device.
- We don't collect email addresses and we don't send email. There is no account and no sign-up.
- We don't sell or share your data for advertising, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies.
What we collect
- Calculator inputs: none. Prices and fees you type into the free tools are worked out in your browser and are not sent to us.
- Tracker data: none. The sales you record in the tracker are stored in your browser's own database (IndexedDB) on your device. They are never uploaded, so we can't see them and can't recover them for you; the backup file you download is the only copy outside your browser.
- Your licence key, if you buy Pro. The tracker keeps it in your browser (localStorage) and, about once a week, sends it through our server to our payment provider (Polar or Dodo Payments) to check it is still valid. Our server sees the licence key and your IP address while it handles that check; it does not store either.
- Survey answers, only if you choose to answer the optional questions about how you sell. They are anonymous: stored under a random id, with no name, email address, country or IP address.
- Purchase details, if you buy. Polar or Dodo Payments is the merchant of record: they take your payment, handle sales tax and send your receipt and licence key under their own privacy policies. They share with us your name, email address, country and order details so we can support you and keep records. We never see your card details.
- Server logs: Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and block abuse.
- Anonymous funnel counters: when you reach the free plan's sales limit (including a CSV import that is capped by it), or click to buy, we count that event with the time, the page it happened on and your approximate country (from your connection). No IP address, email address or other identifier is stored with it, and it is never linked to anything else you did.
Where it is processed
We use Cloudflare (hosting, our server functions and database) and our payment providers Polar and Dodo Payments. These companies process data in the United States and other countries outside Canada, so your information may be accessed by courts and authorities there under local law. We use them only for the purposes above, and we do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Survey answers are kept for 24 months, then deleted.
- Funnel counters are kept for 24 months, then deleted.
- Licence checks are not stored by us.
- Purchase records are kept for 7 years, because Canadian tax law requires business records to be kept for six years after the end of the tax year they relate to.
- Tracker data stays in your browser until you erase it or your browser deletes it; we never hold a copy.
Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and, if you are in the UK or the European Union, the UK GDPR or the GDPR, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, get a copy, or object to how we use it. Where we rely on your consent (for example, marketing email), you can withdraw it at any time; this doesn't affect what we did before. Otherwise we process data because it is needed to provide what you asked for (such as checking your licence) or for our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), or the data protection authority in your EU country.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
